Consider drums. A basic rock or pop beat is Boom, Chick, Boom Boom Chick.
Boom = bass drum
Chick = snare, clap, hi-hat, something high
Start with left hand on piano on a bass note like Boom
and right hand on piano playing a chord like Chick
Boom = LH note C
Chick = RH chord C
Boom, Chick, Boom Boom Chick.
This is the beginning of playing piano more rhythmically instead of just melodically.
