How Sheet Music is Organized

In this video, I cover these sheet music topics:

– Staff (a group of five lines and four spaces)

– Grand Staff (two staves joined together and read at the same time, for instruments with large ranges like piano, organ, harp)

– System (a staff or collection of staves spanning the width of a page of sheet music, which are all meant to be read / played at the same time)

– Measure / Bar (an individual section of music within a system. Most measures within a piece of sheet music contain the same number of beats as all the other measures. All measures are divided by bar lines)

– Bar line (the line which divides one measure from another)

– beat (a division of a measure) – whole rest (a measure with no music)
